Chris Rowe

Director, Senior Mechanical Engineer

Chris has been in the construction industry for over 30 years as a building engineering services design engineer, initially in the United Kingdom and latterly in Wellington since 1999. Chris’ special interest lies in naturally ventilated low-energy buildings. He has also worked on several projects as the independent commissioning agent including the Alan McDiarmid Building at Victoria University, Amesbury School and Project 56 on The Terrace.

With a strong interest in producing internally comfortable buildings Chris completed the Passive House Designer certification in 2011 and is currently the passive house designer/technical consultant for a house in the design stage in Wellington. He and the CORA team are also collaborating with Spacecraft in Christchurch on their WikiHouse project.

Chris likes to relax by watching his beloved football team, the (mighty) Phoenix play and sometimes win. He is yet to be asked to join the Yellow Fever.

Anne Rowe

CORA Administration Manager, Policy Research, Health and Safety

Anne co-founded CORA with Chris in 2009. She enjoys the challenge of balancing business objectives with social and environmental obligations. With this in mind, in 2015 she initiated offsetting CORA’s carbon footprint through Ekos.

Anne carries out the day to day running of CORA with the goal of achieving best practice in areas such as health and safety and business compliance. She ensures that all staff keep up to date with their training and health & safety obligations.

The yearly tree-planting in association with the GWRC is a very satisfying part of Anne’s role within the company. This event grows every year with an average of 1000 trees planted each event. People are welcome to contact her if they want to be part of this day.

Anne has a particular interest in permaculture and when not behind a desk, prefers to be in the garden tending to her worm farms, vegetable patch and compost heap(s).
